Audi Q3’s Zero Navigation in India – could have been one of the MAJOR reason for Janhvi Gadkar’s Accident!
Audi Q3 – Zero Navigation-Navigation option doesn’t work in the India-spec cars. Audi has to tie-up with a local map provider but has it?
Come to think of it… the car cost Rs 31 Lakhs but doesnt even come with a basic navigation system… something that is available for free even in Chinese Android smart phones. Something so simple could have saved 3 lives that night – two who died and she -the living dead.
I am not pardoning her drunk driving but if the so called “safe” Audi car had a working Navigation system then probably Janhvi Gadkar might have driven home successfully and not got confused and driven in the opposite & wrong lane. And poor Nouman Sabuwala’s father would have been alive today.
It was obvious that she was confused as to where she was going, probably due to being drunk but not necessary. Driving in the wrong way has happened to most sober people (but not driving in the opposite lane) especially in the first few years. And it took her probably 1 minute driving at around 120kmph (covered 3kms in 1 minute) to realize that she was going in the wrong direction and turned… big deal?… but it was where she turned into = the opposite-lane = which sealed her fate.
Janhvi Gadkar in Happier Times
Driving under influence of Alcohol or drugs or even sleepiness is very dangerous not only to your life but also to others. If she was in Saudi Arabia she would have been hung to death as it says “life for a life”.
It is obvious that she is irresponsible and should never be allowed to drive a car. She must be made to pay a heavy sum to the kid something that is 15 to 20 times her salary so that little Nuban can go ahead with his studies even though his father’s loss is irreplaceable. But putting her in Jail for years together would not solve anybody’s existing problems.
But what use is a car that doesnt have a working Navigation System that wouldn’t show you the way? I have always insisted that Satellite Navigation system is not a luxury but a necessity. Its time to make navigation mandatory in all cars!
