The Railways will provide space for electric vehicle charging stations at the parking lots of train stations to promote the use of green energy. To begin with, the parking lots at the New Delhi and Nizamuddin railway stations in the capital have been identified to set up e-vehicle (EV) charging spots and “necessary preparations” are underway, according to a senior Railway Ministry official.
Never understood the fact why people make small EVs that can never charge itself and have to depend on the grid to charge itself… in a country where 60% of the population don’t have access to 24×7 electricity. Then say these things are not selling!
Or consider if there is war or emergency and the grid is down… how will millions of the then (year 2050) existing electric vehicles recharge?
On the other hand making the vehicle bigger can allow the vehicle to carry solar panels on the roof to charge itself and also protect the driver, battery and passengers in case of a crash. Bigger the vehicle safer it is in a crash. Always in a crash… the bigger vehicle wins!
